Why Use Testimonials?
Testimonials have the power to relay confidence in your abilities. They build trust and they show how customers you've worked with value your expertise. Testimonials can also help push a prospect over the fence if they're debating between you and someone else. Guarantees and promises will only take you so far. You need proof of results from your customers, clients, or patients that back up your claims.
Video Testimonials Are The Future
Over the years we've seen testimonials used in many forms. Most are written. Some include photos of the person who gave the testimonial. But with the trends in video becoming more prevalent, nothing will boost confidence more than seeing an actual person speak highly of you. Testimonials can come from anyone, including made up customers. However, with video, it's much harder to fake authenticity. It's possible. But it's also much less likely that you're seeing a fake testimonial.
With video you can use your testimonials in much more interactive, creative ways than just your website:

Getting Professional Testimonials
What's worse than having someone give you an amazing testimonial, only to go back and play it later to find out you can't hear a word they said. Between background noises like traffic, airports, and air vents, the audio must be great quality. It's been proven in numerous studies that more people would walk out of a movie with bad audio versus bad video. So while we understand that most people have access to cell phones and tablets, professional testimonials are preferred because they offer a credibility that the client/customer loves you so much they took time out of their busy schedule to be on camera for you. (We do also understand that some testimonials must be recorded at the first opportunity for extremely busy, high profile clients. So we would rather you record with whatever equipment you have available at that moment, then miss the opportunity waiting for a professional crew.)
Our professional crew offers not only high quality video and audio, but they know how to ask the right questions to get you the best testimonials possible. Edited testimonials can come across as less authentic, so our teams know how to get soundbites in succinct statements. They know how to re-ask questions or "guide" your customers/clients into revealing better information that will help you convert more visitors. Everything is results focused, and we look for baselines to build you future case studies. In a nutshell, our crews don't just show up and hit record. They provide you content that will bring you more business, connect you with the right alliances, or develop stronger marketing collateral.

An amateur's video would probably look darker, sound worse (we shut off the air), be out of focus (while background is in focus), and shake much more than our "Bad" example.
However, we purposely recorded all three video examples by the same professional to highlight the differences without an exaggeration of skills (or lack there of).
